According to an article in The Age, The Nine Network (owned/backed by Publishing and Broadcasting Limited (PBL)) has launched court proceedings to stop IceTV from publishing it’s Electronic Program Guide (EPG) information.
I can only find this forum post from IceTV on the issue, since their Corporate News page is mostly empty. Edit: Looks like there’s been an ongoing thread since June about this.
I’ve got several words for PBL / Ch9 (and any other network that forces this issue). None of them could be said in polite company.
Not providing the EPG information freely is in itself despicable. Going after IceTV or anyone else that provides it is the last straw.
I call on everyone to do the following things:
Firstly, Write to/email the papers (both ones owned by PBL, and those not) and blog about what you think of PBL/Channel 9′s actions.
Secondly, Write to/email your local MP, and Senator The Hon. Helen Coonan to tell them they should be involved in creating legislation to require broadcast networks to make their program schedules available freely.
Thirdly, refrain from buying/using any PBL products.

Here’s a list of ACP Mags – which includes APCmag – if you weren’t already confused enough.
