Wasp on a Leaf

Saw this in the backyard. More fiddling with Adobe Lightroom (very cool, btw – Thanks Adobe).

I think they’re breeding or something, ’cause I was buzzed a dozen or so times whilst walking around (they’re native wasps, and don’t have a stinger)

This is… rather dark, partly to do with the colouring weirdness.

Christmas Lunch

(For some reason the colouring is a bit messed up at the moment, I’ll track it down and fix it soon)

I skipped the photos of the seafood, salads, and deserts.

I think this image (safe for work) sums up the whole idea quite well…

As one of the commenters on flickr says “Girl – Lens – Girl – Lens. I’m so conflicted!”

Side-On shot, as requested.

Wasp-ish

I’ve been doing some cleaning up outside today – and I noticed a bunch of (native) wasps coming around. They normally build their little mud hive under the house, but I havn’t seen any so far this year.

This one hung around for a good few minutes whilst I took some shots of it.

Wasp-ish

This is an experiment with selective desaturation, as it seems to be the trendy thing to do.

Plus, the original is a tad chaotic without it (the christmas bush is a blue/purple colour).

While I was waiting… I took a few snaps out the terminal windows. Unfortunately, I forgot that the ISO setting was on 1600*, so the images are a bit grainy (I’ve done some editing to try and reduce that, but it’s still grainy)

* Canon, damnit, you need to put the current ISO setting in the viewfinder!

Cybele, the blogger behind Candy Blog, went to a product launch for CocoaBella’s “Worlds Greatest Box of Chocolates”.

The review, is… irresistable. Tissues/Napkin to wipe off the drool is highly recommended.

Hail? Run!

I took this pic on Tuesday last week, so it missed (just outside the acceptance range for the Whirlpool Photo Comp 21 ”Man-Made Meets Nature”).

Thought it was interesting enough to pop up here… not sure if I’m satisfied by the cropping, but it’ll do for now.

Very useful link for any NSW Photographers – NSW Photographer’s Rights.

Some funny stuff in there too :)

I’m thinking of going to the Australian International Motor Show, to take some photos — anyone else going?
