Managing a server isn't really difficult, just a bit of checking in on it sometimes to make sure everything is up to date. Mind you, the expense is what puts it off, and the original reason I got it for is no longer viable, thus why I think I'll be opening a DH account later this month and finally suspend my server. Last night I was reading through those links you sent me about dreamhost, particularly the outage page. One of the comparisons in the comments which I thought was a good one was (paraphrased) "As a business how can you expect to pay less on web hosting than you do on toner for your printer" I have signed up for Dreamhost even after reading all the bad things about them because to be honest they're relatively cheap, they do what I want and I don't have any misconceptions about the level of service I will receive from them.
