Regarding Windows Update - when that happend to me for the first time, I was completely annoyed. Had tons of apps open, and everything was lost..

However, when I switched to manual updates mode, I encountered a new problem - Windows Update notifies me of every small update it wants to install, especially the almost daily updates of Windows Defender.

So why not make an option in the middle? "Install updates automatically, besides those that need a computer restart or a restart of a running program".

It happens to my desktop and laptop.
I get that dialog if I'm logged in and at the PC when the dialog comes on.

If I've got the desktop locked instead, and the PC is left on overnight - sometime around 3am it downloads the update, applies it, then reboots.

I've never automagically been rebooted by Windows Updates.
When WU wants to reboot, it pops up a little dialog, "WU wants to reboot", with the ability to 'reboot now', or set a reminder for 10m/30m/1hr/4hrs.
Laptop/Desktop/Chickz0rs computer all act this way?
