No Will, Football is an abreviation of the ‘official’ name of the game…Association Football. So named when the old english game split (dispute on how the game should be played. Re. use of hands (developed into Rugby) & non use of hands (became FOOTBALL).

In some parts of Europe (and Sth America) it’s just spelt Futbol but it’s just the same thing.

Football is indeed, FOOTBALL!!!
