Just gotta say - Rivers shoes are great - really really comfortable.
I got a pair of Rivers joggers/trainers before I went overseas - and wore them every day for seven weeks - and did quite a few kilometers (no idea how many, but most days I was walking all day).
I had surprisingly few blisters - only one or two - and they weren’t bad, considering I didn’t wear them in at all before going.
Anyway, after 12 weeks straight, plus a few more months of regular usage - they’ve finally given up the ghost - the tread had worn down to nearly bare, and the back started splitting (it wasn’t separating, it was the actual suede at the heel which had worn and split). I could probably get them repaired - but that requires finding someone who will repair it.
So, I got myself a new pair yesterday - wearing them for the first time today.
You know when you get new shoes - you’re really conscious of how you’re walking until the shoes loosen up? Well, these didn’t have any of that - they feel as comfortable as the last pair did.
Oh - and they’ve got nice soft inner-soles too - you feel like you’re walking on soft grass all the time. Fantastic.
